Identity
Project Identity
A durable identity for the work itself — distinct from any one conversation, model or agent.
OntoAI research programme · Internal codename
Building continuity for intelligent work.
A persistent intelligent environment where projects can retain their identity, memory, evidence, decisions and intent across conversations, models and agents.
The problem
Important work accumulates context over days, months and years. It crosses chats, documents, tools, people and models.
Today, that continuity is fragile. The next conversation often begins with a reconstruction: what were we trying to do, what did we learn, what did we decide, and why?
Project Symphix explores a different foundation — one where the project, rather than the conversation, is the persistent unit of intelligent work.
What we are building
One thread of work, carried forward without flattening its history.
The model or agent may change. The identity, evidence and intent of the work should not.
Foundations
Identity
A durable identity for the work itself — distinct from any one conversation, model or agent.
Memory
A connected history of intent, context, evidence, decisions and outcomes that can be carried forward.
Continuity
Conversations remain meaningful parts of the record without becoming the boundary of the project.
Trust
Important conclusions remain connected to what supports them, making uncertainty and provenance visible.
Agency
Agents that can support ongoing work while remaining grounded in the project’s identity and history.
Control
Actions stay within explicit authority, with consequential decisions and their evidence preserved.
Freedom
The continuity of the work should outlast the choice of model, provider or interface.
Core principles
Project before conversation
Evidence before assertion
Authority before action
Continuity beyond the model
Development status
Project Symphix is an internal OntoAI research and development codename. We are developing and testing its foundational architecture.
